Designed and built by China COSCO SHIPPING Corporation Limited, the platform is the first of its kind built by a Chinese company with entrustment of British energy group BP plc.

The platform is 270 meters long and 54 meters wide and has a maximum displacement of about 320,000 metric tons. It covers an area of two football pitches and is as high as a 10-storey building. It is designed to serve for 30 years and is able to store at least 1.44 million buckets.

With a 22-meter-long and 41-meter-wide living area, the platform can provide accommodation for 140 workers.

Once operational, the part is expected to handle 500 million standard cubic feet (about 14.16 million cubic meters) of gas daily.

The platform is expected to be in operation in coastal areas of West Africa, playing a key role in development of an international-level liquefied natural gas hub and contributing to green energy development.
