Construction of the Baihetan-Jiangsu ±800-kilovolt ultra-high voltage (UHV) direct current (DC) power transmission line in Enshi Tujia and Miao Autonomous Prefecture in Central China's Hubei Province continues against the summer heat.
The project is key to China's west-east power transmission program and a major clean power undertaking to promote the country's energy structure transformation and energy conservation and emission reduction.
It will implement the second power line to transmit power generated in the Baihetan Hydropower Station to other regions. With a total length of 2,140.2 kilometers, the line starts from Butuo County in Liangshan Yi Autonomous Prefecture, Southwest China's Sichuan Province, and ends at Yuhang District in Hangzhou, East China's Zhejiang Province.
