China National Offshore Oil Corporation (CNOOC) succeeded in installing the undersea pipe clamp of the Cezhen undersea pipeline deformation renovation project on July 26.
It is currently the largest special-shaped pipe clamp in use in the world and is expected to provide a brand-new solution to permanent restoration of the global undersea pipeline defect.
A main part of the Ningbo-Shanghai-Nanjing crude oil pipeline network, the Cezhen undersea pipeline is a key infrastructure to guarantee the nation's energy security and its maintenance and repairing has been seen as a priority.
The pipe clamp used in the maintenance is 6.15 meters long and weighs 24 metric tons. It has a largest diameter of 762 millimeters and high installation precision.
Many cutting-edge technologies were developed during installation.
