The reservoirs over the Yangtze River's main streams, including the Wudongde, Baihetan, Xiluodu, Xiangjiaba and Three Gorges, were ready for the upcoming flood season as of June 30, set to protect life and property in affected areas.
The upstream of the Yangtze River has more water volume this year, leading to a nearly 10-meter higher average water level of the Three Gorges Reservoir in early May than that in the same period in the past few years. A similar situation is evident at the Xiluodu Reservoir, which has a over 36-meter higher water level in early June than that in the same period in any of the most recent five years.
In response to the situation, CTG's China Yangtze Power Co., Ltd. has improved precipitation forecasting and scheduling consultation and made water fluctuation plans in advance.

At present, water levels of all reservoirs over the main streams of the Yangtze River meet the required targets for the flood season.
Meanwhile, the company has also provided more than 30 billion cubic meters of water for biodiversity protection, domestic and production water supply and shipping in affected areas.
