CSSC Delivers New-Generation 300,000-Ton Energy-Conserving, Environmentally-Friendly VLCC

Dalian Shipbuilding Industry Co., Ltd. (DSIC), a subsidiary of China State Shipbuilding Corporation Limited (CSSC) delivered a new generation 300,000-metric-ton energy-conserving and environmentally-protective very large crude carrier (VLCC) to China Merchants Group (CMG) on June 18.

Named "Kaiyong", it is the fourth vessel of the energy-saving and environmentally-friendly VLCC series and the 23rd 300,000-ton ultra-large crude oil tanker DSIC has built for CMG.

The vessel is 333-meter long, 60-meter wide and 30-meter deep. It is able to travel more than 26,000 nautical miles and can go through the Strait of Malacca carrying two million buckets of crude.

It has outstanding overall performance and contributes well to security and environmental protection. It meets the requirements of the Harmonized Common Structural Rules (HCSR), the latest oxynitride and oxysulfide emission standards, and the Energy Efficiency Design Index (EEDI) and Energy Efficiency Existing Ship Index (EEXI).
