Updated: June 27, 2022

The three satellites of the Yaogan 35-02 series will be mainly used in scientific experiments and surveying land resources. The A and B satellites were generally developed by China Academy of Space Technology and the C satellite was developed by Shanghai Academy of Spaceflight Technology, both subsidiaries of China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation.

The Shanghai Academy of Spaceflight Technology is also a contributor to development of the Long March 2D carrier rocket, a second-stage carrier rocket propelled by liquid propellants.

The rocket has high reliability and security, low costs and a short launch period and is capable of launching various types of satellites with different orbital requirements and multiple satellites through a single launch.
