Following the concept of "lucid waters and lush mountains are invaluable assets", Yunnan Communications Investment & Construction Group Co., Ltd. (YCIC) has been in full swing in promoting green highway construction in Southwest China's Yunnan Province in recent years.
Simao-Xiaomengyang Expressway
The Simao-Xiaomengyang Expressway is China's first roadway stretching through a tropical rainforest.
YCIC builders stuck to the principle of building bridges and tunnels instead of filling valleys or digging hills during construction, which effectively protected the surrounding environment.

Xiaomengyang-Mohan Highway
One of the country's first green highway demonstration projects, the Xiaomengyang-Mohan Highway provides migration paths for the Asian Elephant and restores the natural forest over four tunnels along its length.

Dali-Lijiang Highway
During construction of the Dali-Lijiang Highway, YCIC transplanted the native plants along the highway and made special construction plans to protect old growth.

Mengla-Mengman Port Expressway
YCIC tried it best to reduce impact on the natural resources along the expressway and guaranteed high-quality construction while protecting the environment. The company implemented engineering plans of bridges and tunnels to avoid changing the watercourse and hydrological conditions and also protected rare plants by relocating them.

Chuxiong-Dayao Expressway
YCIC gave full play to the rich plant resources during construction of the Chuxiong-Dayao Expressway and made the expressway a regional landscape themed with local flowers and plants. The project not only protected the natural environment to the greatest extent, but also played a demonstrative role in ecological civilization construction and development in the country.
