CSCEC Contributes to Construction of East Guangdong Traffic Artery

Updated: May 17, 2022

Shanbei Road, which links Raoping County in Chaozhou and the downtown area and Chenghai District in Shantou, South China's Guangdong Province, fully opened to traffic on May 7, marking operation of a new artery between Shantou and Chaozhou.

Contracted by China State Construction Engineering Corporation (CSCEC), the six-lane road is about 31.1 kilometers and has a designed speed of 80 kilometers per hour.

The Longhu Lake section, the last one to be completed, includes three parts: the Waisha River and Xinjin River grand bridges and a bridge crossing Dongxing Road. It is also a key construction project of the region and a major part of the G228 national highway.

Travel time between the downtown area of Shantou and Chaozhou is expected to be shortened to 30 minutes, which will effectively relieve traffic pressure and boost industrial development in affected areas.
