China State Construction Engineering Corporation (CSCEC) is responsible for the expansion project of the hospital, which occupies a total area of 15,000 square meters. The project started in October 2018.

The main part of the project is a comprehensive medical building mainly used for surgery. It also features departments like outpatient, emergency treatment, medical technology and inpatient as well as supporting offices.

Funded by China, the hospital is equipped with advanced medical equipment and a scientific tiered diagnosis and treatment system.

It's worth noting that a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) department was set up where Chinese state-level TCM medical expert teams will play a role.
