The Baijusi Yangtze River Bridge in Southwest China's Chongqing municipality, the world's longest span highway-railway dual-use steel truss cable-stayed bridge, opened to traffic on Jan 24, 2022.
A key section of Chongqing's seven horizontal lines crossing the Yangtze River, the 3.7-kilometer bridge connects Dadukou and Banan districts. It has a 1,384-meter long main bridge and a 660-meter span. The upper layer of the bridge is a 38-meter-wide highway with eight lanes and the bottom layer is a 19.2-meter-wide railway for Rail Transit Line 18.
The two main towers of the bridge are 236 meters high with a spatial poly-curved teardrop-shaped concrete structure. They are the highest bridge towers in the main districts of Chongqing.

Operation of the bridge links the Jiangjin, Jiulongpo, Dadukou and Banan administrative areas in Chongqing and creates a main channel connecting the Banan Longzhouwan Area and the Yangtze River Culture and Art Bay Area.
It is expected to effectively relieve traffic congestion of the Inner Ring Expressway in Chongqing and drive economic development in affected areas.
CCCC Second Harbor Engineering Company Ltd., a subsidiary of China Communications Construction Company Limited (CCCC), was responsible for the project.
