Two highway sections between Yuli, the 35th corps of the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps, and Ruoqiang in Northwest China recently went into trial operation.
The sections are 167.87 and 189.5 kilometers long respectively and both are four-lane highways with a designed speed of 120 kilometers per hour.

Construction of the two sections was completed and delivered 10 months ahead of schedule.
They are expected to boost transportation capacity, promote economic and social development and improve livelihoods in southern Xinjiang.
They will also play a role in strengthening land transportation between China and Central and South Asia, making Xinjiang a core region of the Belt and Road Initiative.

The sections are parts of the Public-Private-Partnership (PPP) project of the Urumqi-Yulin highway jointly built by the government of the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region and China Communications Construction Company Limited (CCCC).
Valued at about 76 billion yuan ($11.95 billion), the project has a total length of 1,305 kilometers, making it the largest PPP project under construction in China.
