The Zhoushan-Daishan Cross-sea Bridge in East China's Zhejiang Province opened to traffic on Dec 29, the final step in connecting all counties of the region with highways.
Contracted by China Communications Construction Company Limited (CCCC), the bridge is about 28 kilometers long and is the only sea channel connecting the Zhoushan and Daishan islands.
The Zhoushan-Daishan Cross-sea Bridge links with the Zhoushan Cross-sea Bridge and the Fuchimen Bridge. Together they make a key land collecting and distribution channel to Zhoushan Port in Ningbo and the longest highway between islands and the largest cross-sea bridge cluster in China.
Operation of the bridge is expected to improve the local transportation network and promote the integrated development of the Yangtze River Delta region.
