Tan Zuojun Attends 2021 Chinese Enterprise Global Image Summit

On Dec 6, 2021, under the joint guidance of the Publicity Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC), the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council (SASAC),  and the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce, and hosted by the China Foreign Languages Publishing Administration, the 2021 Chinese Enterprise Global Image Summit was held in Beijing, both online and offline. Tan Zuojun, Member of the Party Committee and Vice Chairman of SASAC, attended the summit and delivered a speech.

In his speech, Tan said the sixth plenary session of the 19th CPC Central Committee has sounded a clarion call for starting the new journey of building a modern socialist country in all respects and marching towards the second centenary goal. In the new era and new situation, it is important to tell well the stories of China's central state-owned enterprises (SOEs) and to communicate the national image to the world.

Tan said efforts should be made to tell the pioneering and innovative stories about Chinese enterprises, presenting an enterprising and dynamic national image and better demonstrating Chinese wisdom and strength to the world.

He called for efforts to tell well the stories of the coordinated development of Chinese enterprises, presenting a national image of comprehensive development, harmony and civilization and effectively promoting China's proposition and solution for coordinated development and all-around progress.

Efforts should be made to tell well the stories of Chinese enterprises' green development, presenting a national image of a low-carbon, environmentally-friendly, clean and beautiful China and fully demonstrating China's role in and contribution to global climate governance.

Efforts should also be made to tell well the stories of Chinese enterprises' open development, presenting China's image of amity, sincerity, mutual benefit, and inclusiveness, as well as its endeavors for win-win results, and vividly interpreting the China's values and concepts of openness, cooperation, and win-win results.

In addition, efforts should be made to tell well the stories of Chinese enterprises' shared development presenting a national image of happiness, prosperity, harmony and coexistence, and explaining in-depth the China's path and practices toward shared and peaceful development.

The 2021 Chinese Enterprise Image Global Survey Report was released at the summit, where the results of the 2021 (4th) Chinese enterprise international image building case collection were announced. The cases of nine central SOEs were rated among "Top 10 Outstanding Cases of 2021 Chinese Enterprise International Image Building".

The summit was livestreamed, with business representatives, think tank experts and media reporters attending the event on-site.
