The Jueba Mountain Tunnel, the longest highway tunnel in Southwest China's Tibet Autonomous Region, was recently dug through.
Located in Markham County, Chamdo City, the 6,995-meter long tunnel is a key part of the No. 318 national highway renovation project linking Zhubalong in Sichuan Province and Nyingchi City in Tibet.
Its entrance is 3,220 meters above sea level.

Construction on the tunnel started in 2018. CCCC Second Harbor Engineering Company Ltd., a subsidiary of China Communications Construction Company Limited (CCCC), participated in the tunnel construction.
Once operational, the traffic capacity of the Zhubalong-Nyingchi highway will be boosted and resources along the highway will be better developed, which will be of great significance for Tibet's economic and social development.
