The Yanqing converter station of Zhangbei flexible direct current (DC) power grid was fully inspected in late September to ensure safe and stable green power supplies for the upcoming Beijing 2022 Winter Olympic Games.
Based on China-developed core technologies and key facilities, the Zhangbei flexible DC power grid in Zhangjiakou, North China's Hebei Province has the highest voltage level of its kind in China.
The recent inspection was the first time the converter station stopped service for checks and examination since it went into operation a year ago.
Nearly 2,000 electric power overhaul technicians nationwide participated in the inspection and completed more than 25,000 tests.
