The Qingyun power storage station demonstration project recently broke ground in Qingyun County, Shandong Province.
Built by the China Three Gorges Corporation (CTG), the project is one of Shandong's first power storage models and CTG's first independent power storage station.
With the help of the area's rich wind and solar resources, more than 95 percent of Qingyun's installed capacity will come from renewable energy.
Built with the cooperation between the government and power enterprises, the project will set a precedent for the construction of more renewable energy power systems in the future.
In addition, it will also contribute to China's goal of reaching peak carbon dioxide emissions by 2030 and reaching carbon neutrality by 2060.
