The K1 Expressway, the first municipal expressway in the Xiongan New Area in North China's Hebei Province, has passed its final inspection and is ready for traffic.
A key supporting project of the Xiongan Station of the Beijing-Xiongan intercity railway, the expressway links the No. 333 provincial road and the Dalian-Guangzhou, Rongcheng-Wuhai and the Beijing-Xiongan highways.
Stretching through the Zangang district in Xiongan, the 15.1-kilometer-long expressway will shorten travel time between Rongcheng county in Xiongan and Xiongan Station to 15 minutes. It is also expected to improve traffic in the area, which will help to boost the coordinated development of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region and relieve Beijing of functions that are non-essential to its role as the national capital.
