Construction of the main body of the Lalai River Highway Project in Mongolia, a key part of the China-Mongolia-Russia Economic Corridor, has been completed.
Located Southeast of Ulaanbaatar, capital city of Mongolia, the highway is a major national project in the country, and a crucial section of the Asian Highway 3 under the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative.
The only artery linking the capital, Lalai district and the eastern region of the country, the previous double-lane highway is to be renovated into four lanes.
Once operational, the highway is expected to boost China-Mongolia trade and deepen friendship between the two countries.
Sinohydro Bureau 9 Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of the Power Construction Corporation of China contributed towards the highway's renovation.
