The Yu'an No. 2 Tunnel, part of the first phase of the new intercity railway linking Beijing Daxing International Airport and Langfang East Railway Station in North China's Hebei province, was drilled through on July 2, a key stage in the project.
Contracted by China Railway 22nd Bureau Group Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of China Railway Construction Corporation Limited, the 39.3-kilometer railway has a designed speed of 200 kilometers per hour and a scheduled construction completion date of 2023.
