The Iconic Tower of the Central Business District (CBD) of Egypt's New Administrative Capital was capped on June 17 local time.
An ultra-high building, the tower is to play multiple roles as an office building and a hotel; and can be used for business and sightseeing.
With a peak as high as 385.8 meters, it is the tallest of its kind in Africa.
Contracted by China State Construction Engineering Corporation, construction of the tower started on May 2, 2018. Many engineering records were set during the project.
For example, the ultra-large concrete bottom floor, which covers 18,500 cubic meters, was concreted within 38 hours, the fastest engineering feat of its kind in both the Middle East and Africa. The core tube was completed in 808 days, a record in Egypt.
