The decoration plan for the public zones at the stations of Chengdu Rail Transit Line 18 in Southwest China's Sichuan Province recently won the Platinum Award, the highest honor for interior design in the world, according to the 2021 global award list of the MUSE Creative Awards.
Contracted by Power Construction Corporation of China (POWERCHINA), the metro line is an express linking downtown Chengdu with Chengdu Tianfu International Airport. It is also the central axis of the main urban area, the Tianfu New Area and the airport new town.
In order to show local culture, stations along the line were designed with traditional cultural and modern local elements.
The Muse Creative Awards, founded in New York, is an international design competition for creative professionals and companies in various design fields.
Sponsored by the International Awards Association (IAA), it is one of the most influential awards for creative design in the world.
The award has an extremely strict assessment system and attracts numerous world-known brands and design companies.
Nearly 42,000 works from 102 countries participated in the design competition this year and were assessed by more than 180 judges from aspects of creativity and design concepts.
