East China's Offshore Flexible DC Project Makes Key Progress

Updated: May 08, 2021

The offshore booster station of the Three Gorges Rudong H10 offshore wind power project in East China's Jiangsu Province was recently hoisted, laying a solid foundation for its full operation this year.

Located in the Huangshayang sea area to the east of Rudong County, the Three Gorges Rudong offshore flexible direct current wind power project includes H6 and H10 wind farms that have a total installed capacity of 800 megawatts and can accommodate 200 wind blowers.

Once operable, the 2.4 billion kWh of power generated by the project is expected to be connected to the grid, meeting the annual power demands of about 990,000 households.

That amount of power equals that produced by burning about 740,000 tons of standard coal, and reduces carbon dioxide emissions by about 1.83 million tons.
