GBA Sees New Highway in Operation

Updated: April 30, 2021

The Guangzhou-Foshan-Zhaoqing Highway in South China's Guangdong Province opened for traffic on April 25 as construction of the Beijiang Bridge was completed.

Starting from the Fenghuangshan Tunnel in Guangzhou, the 258-kilometer highway is a fast channel connecting the three cities, and is expected to relieve traffic pressure in affected areas and strengthen connectivity in the core region of the Pearl River Delta and Southwest China.

Last but not least, the highway will promote development of the one-hour economic circle of the three cities and the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA).

China Railway Major Bridge Engineering Group Co., Ltd, a subsidiary of China Railway Group Limited, was responsible for the highway construction.
