Construction of the main arch of the Wumeihe Bridge, a key section of the Guiyang-Huangping Highway in Guizhou Province, was completed on Feb 5, 2021, laying a solid foundation for operation of the highway by the end of this June.
The bridge was designed by CCCC First Highway Consultants Co., Ltd. and contracted by CCCC Fourth Highway Engineering Co., Ltd. Both companies are subsidiaries of China Communications Construction Company Limited (CCCC).
A major project of Guizhou's highway network plan, the 119-kilometer Guiyang-Huangping Highway is expected to improve the highway network in Guizhou as well as transport capacity between Guiyang and the Yangtze River Delta region.
What's more, the highway will also play a role in boosting economic growth of central Guizhou, supporting regional industrialization and construction of a new type of urbanization. It will promote poverty alleviation and building of a moderately prosperous society in all respects.
