China Delivers First LPG Vessel Meeting IGC Code Standard

ZHAO YUAN, a vessel that can carry 5,000 cubic meters of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), was delivered on Jan 25, 2021.

It is China's first IPG vessel designed and built to the International Code for the Construction and Equipment of Ships Carrying Liquefied Gases in Bulk (IGC Code).

Contracted by CSSC Guangxi Shipbuilding and Offshore Engineering Co., Ltd, a subsidiary of China State Shipbuilding Corporation Limited (CSSC), the vessel is 99.9 meters long, 16.6 meters wide and 8 meters high.

With a designed draft of 5.8 meters, it can operate as fast as 13.5 knots with a full load.

ZHAO YUAN is the first product of the 10,000-ton shipbuilding production line at CSSC's Qinzhou base affiliated to CSSC Guangxi Shipbuilding and Offshore Engineering Co., Ltd.

A milestone of the company's high-end civil ship building, completion of the ship marked operation of the first 10,000-ton shipbuilding production line in the Beibu Gulf. The line is expected to promote development of the high-end equipment industry in Guangxi.
