Ali Grid Interconnection Project
The Ali Grid Interconnection Project in Tibet went into operation on Dec 4. It is the world's highest and longest ultra-high voltage power transmission and transformation project.
Its operation was the last step in establishment of an integrated power grid covering 74 counties.
With a total investment of 7.4 billion yuan ($1.14 billion), the project, which began construction in September 2019, is the fourth power grid to operate on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau.
