5G contributes to height measurement of Mount Qomolangma
The latest height measurement of Mount Qomolangma in Southwest China's Tibet Autonomous Region, 8,848.86 meters, was announced on Dec 8.
Thanks to the world's highest 5G base station at a camp 6,500 meters above sea level, which was built by China Mobile on April 30, high-definition livestreaming captured the mountaineering team's measuring the height.
Many central SOEs in the field of telecommunication also contributed to the project.
The station provides 5G internet to the entire climbing route of the North Slope and the peak of Mount Qomolangma.
