Updated: January 05, 2021

The first maglev train for the Qingyuan maglev tour line in South China's Guangdong Province recently rolled off the production line in Changchun, Northeast China's Jilin Province.

Equipped with advanced magnetic levitation and traction technologies, the new generation medium-low speed maglev train can operate as fast as 120 kilometers per hour.

With advantages like low noise and vibration, outstanding safety performance and climbing ability, low cost and economically efficient land use, the line is an ideal transportation between urban and scenic areas.

With each car weighing about 40 tons, the train can carry as many as 500 passengers.

Designed for a tour line, the train is painted with drawings of animals outside and forest elements inside.

The Qingyuan line is China's first medium-low speed maglev tour line and the world's 5th medium-low speed maglev line.

Starting from Yinzhan Station in Qingyuan and terminating at the Guangzhou Chimelong Holiday Resort, the 8-kilometer line is expected to boost high-quality development of tourism in affected areas.

The line was invested and constructed and will be operated by China Railway Maglev Transportation Investment Construction Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of China Railway Construction Corporation Limited.
