The highway linking Tianjin and Shijiazhuang in North China's Hebei Province opened to traffic on Dec 22, shortening travel time between the two cities to three hours.
A major project of the integration of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, the 233.5-kilometer highway passes several arteries including the Beijing-Shanghai, Beijing-Taipei, Daqing-Guangzhou and Beijing-Hong Kong-Macao highways.
It is expected to improve regional industrial structure and boost regional economic distribution.
CCCC First Highway Engineering Group Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of China Communications Construction Company Limited (CCCC), participated in construction of the 12.5-kilometer section winding in the west of Tianjin. The section has six lanes and a designed speed of 120 kilometers per hour.
