The Zhuhai Honghe Bridge in South China's Guangdong province, a tandem cable-stayed bridge with the world's longest span, opened to traffic on Dec 15.
Consisting of two 500-meter double-pylon cable-stayed sub-bridges, the 9.65-kilometer bridge has six lanes and a designed speed of 100 kilometers per hour.
It is expected to improve the impact of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and Zhuhai in Guangdong on areas westward.
China Railway 11th Bureau Group Second Engineering Co., Ltd, a subsidiary of China Railway Construction Corporation Limited, participated in the construction.
