Keel of Yellow River's First Tunnel Assembled

Updated: December 02, 2020

The keel frame of the shield section of China's first tunnel across the Yellow River was recently completed in Jinan, capital of Shandong province.

The 4.92-meter long frame was welded in the processing area and transported to the engineering site for assembly after reinforcement and rust-proofing.

As the welding was done before the frame entered the tunnel, pollution produced during welding was avoided.

The project is contracted by Electrification Engineering Co., Ltd of China Railway 14th Group, a subsidiary of China Railway Construction Corporation Limited.
