The spacecraft will separate from the carrier rocket in the Earth-moon transfer orbit. This will be the beginning of the Earth-moon transfer, the spacecraft's second stage. It will then turn on its solar wings and enter the selected orbit. The entire stage will take about 112 hours and several mid-course corrections will be conducted to guarantee the spacecraft accurately reaches the perilune. [Photo/sasac.gov.cn]

The spacecraft will conduct two speed reductions to enter the lunar circular orbit at an appropriate speed. The last orbit Chang'e-5 enters will be about 200 kilometers from the moon. This stage will last for 24 hours. [Photo/sasac.gov.cn]
