Progress Made on Key Section of China's First Cross-Sea High-Speed Railway

Construction of the main pile cap of the Meizhou Bay cross-sea bridge was recently completed, setting the stage for the engineering of the upper structure of the bridge.

Contracted by China Railway 11 Bureau Group Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of China Railway Construction Corporation Limited, the 14.7-kilometer bridge is a key section of the Fuzhou-Xiamen high-speed railway in Southeast China's Fujian province and stretches for 10 kilometers over the sea surface at Putian and Quanzhou, Fujian.

China's first cross-sea high-speed railway, the Fuzhou-Xiamen high-speed railway is 277.42 kilometers long, and consists of bridges and tunnels for 85 percent of its length. It will be a main high-speed railway in Southeast China.
