Chinese central SOEs have been fulfilling their roles in winning the battle against poverty. Some of their projects are now landmarks and roads to prosperity in rural areas.
New village construction in Gansu
In 2013, China Petrochemical Corporation (Sinopec Group) launched a drinking water project in Dongxiang autonomous county in Gansu province.
The project included construction and maintenance of a 578-kilometer water supply pipeline, 164 impounding reservoirs and 2,349 sets of facilities in local households.
What's more, Sinopec Group built a 75.3-kilometer road which makes it much easier for villagers to travel. In 2015, all villagers of 56 households moved into the new village.
