The East Shenzhen environmental protection power generation project went into operation on Dec 31, 2019.
The project was designed by East China Electric Power Design Institute Co., Ltd. and contracted by China Energy Engineering Group Northeast No. 1 Electric Power Construction Co., Ltd, both subsidiaries of China Energy Engineering Group.
With a total investment of about 4.5 billion yuan ($657.45 million), the project included construction of six household waste incineration lines that can handle 5,100 tons of waste daily.
It is now the household waste incineration power plant with the greatest waste treatment capacity in China.
