The overhead lines of the Beijing Daxing International Airport to Xiongan New Area railway went into operation on Sept 10, laying the foundation for the railway's trial operation.
The railway's electrical power, traction power transformation, overhead line systems, communication, signaling and support buildings were all contracted by China Railway Construction Electrification Bureau Group Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of China Railway Construction Corporation Limited (CRCC).
During construction, smart type-3 overhead line equipment, including a parameter examination and a dropper calibration machine, was used. Production lines of droppers and brackets were also developed by the company, which improved matching accuracy, production efficiency and construction quality.
The technologies and products used provide a rich experience for China's future construction of electric power systems, traction power transformation, overhead lines and communication systems.
Building Information Modeling (BIM)-based digital processing technology, GSM-R smart internet systems and an electric service big data maintenance platform were also developed and used in the Beijing-Xiongan Intercity Railway, as was the BeiDou Navigation Satellite System.
The Beijing-Xiongan Intercity Railway is an artery line linking Beijing, the Daxing International Airport and Xiongan New Area. It is expected to play a significant role in transportation and the coordinated development of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region.
Once in operation, travel time between the urban area of Beijing and the Xiongan New Area will be shortened to half an hour.
