5G-Based Smart Devices Contribute to UHV DC Project

Updated: September 03, 2020

5G-based smart devices are widely used in monitoring and inspection in the South Henan converter transformer substation of the Qinghai-Henan ±800kV ultra-high voltage (UHV) direct current (DC) project.

The substation was fully covered by 5G internet this May and was equipped with 5G-based inspection robots, unmanned aerial vehicles and high-definition video monitoring devices, which improved sensory ability at the substation and ensured safe and stable operation of its UHV engineering.
