CSCEC Promotes Smart Parking Nationwide

Updated: June 16, 2020

CSCEC Electronic Information Technology Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of China State Construction Engineering Corporation (CSCEC), has contributed to optimization of parking resources and improved urban traffic efficiency by its self-developed smart parking cloud platform.

Within a year, the company's smart platform has been used in more than 2,000 parking lots in Dongguan of South China's Guangdong province and has facilitated more than 400 million vehicle parkings.

One-stop precise parking service

The platform is capable of automatically collecting and analyzing the number of unavailable parking spaces, the turnover rate of space availability, parking areas and time as well as parking payment patterns, which helps with more efficient urban traffic management.

The platform, integrated with such technologies as the internet of things, mobile internet and big data, is also a tool for government departments to obtain macro and micro data of parking spaces and parking lots.

By using the same API interfaces to connect with equipment including devices in parking lots, the terrestrial magnetism of the internet of things on the road side and high-low level video piles, the parking data and payment applications are linked on the same platform which joins together isolated information islands into unified management on one platform.

In addition to highly-efficient parking management, users can also experience services like indoor navigation, automatic payment and electronic invoices through the platform.

Intelligent solutions to urban parking

A central city in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, Dongguan is home to about 3.23 million cars, which calls for dynamic monitoring and effective allocation of parking resources.

In September 2019, China Construction Infrastructure Survey Engineering Design & Construction Group Co., Ltd. signed an agreement to work together with Dongguan Communications Investment Group Co., Ltd in aspects of static traffic, smart city and major new infrastructure construction.

With the support of the local government's policies, the smart parking platform has made fast progress.

A screen to display available parking spaces in business areas in the city was also promoted in December 2019, which makes it much easier for residents to park their cars.

Thanks to the fast development of new infrastructure this year, smart parking has also improved.

So far, the platform is being promoted nationwide and has been adopted in Ganzhou of Jiangxi province and Xi'an of Shaanxi province.

The two sides will continue to optimize the platform and plan to develop a comprehensive traffic database to construct a highly-efficient urban traffic microcirculation system.
