The Suramadu Bridge in Indonesia, the first overseas bridge built to Chinese standards, was completed in June 2009.

With a total length of 5,438 meters, the cross-sea bridge links Surabaya, Indonesia's second-largest city and Madura Island.

The bridge was primarily contracted by China Communications Construction Company Limited (CCCC) which was responsible for its design, engineering and technology development. Construction of the bridge began in November 2005.
