Zhao Aiming, Vice Chairman of the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council (SASAC), met with Nokia Board Chairman Risto Siilasmaa, CEO Rajeev Suri and all board members.

At the meeting, they exchanged ideas on the state-assets and SOE reform, development of communication technology, and cooperation among enterprises.

Zhao appreciated Nokia Group for convening its global board of directors in China again after 13 years, and noted that President Xi Jinping has held a cordial meeting with Finnish President Sauli Niinisto in January.

The two presidents agreed to further boost bilateral ties, she said, adding that SASAC attaches great importance to the long term cooperation between Chinese central SOEs and Nokia, and pays close attention to the sustainable and healthy development of the joint venture Nokia Shanghai Bell.

Zhao also hoped Nokia would bring its advantages to expand cooperation with Chinese central SOEs in technological innovation and industrial transformation and set an example for China-Finland cooperation.

Siilasmaa expressed his gratitude to SASAC for its long-term support and hoped to deepen cooperation with Chinese central SOEs on the R&D and application of communication and digital technology.

Suri outlined the company's business upgrading, technological innovation and development in China.
