Addisababa Djibouti Railway was the first modern electric railway in Africa built by China Railway Group Limited (CREC) and China Railway Construction Corporation Co, Ltd (CRCC) using a full set of Chinese standards and equipment. Almost 1,200 trains each have a capacity of 3500 tons, and typical haulage time has been greatly shortened. The picture shows a train engineer preparing to enter the cab.
