On Jun 30, 2008, construction of line A of the Central Asia–China gas pipeline started. It was China's first cross-border energy channel for overseas natural gas by land. After more than six years, lines A, B and C of the pipeline were completed with a length of 5,496 km. With a short construction period, long length and many countries covered, the project set a new record in the history of world pipeline construction. The picture shows the construction site.
