Coca-cola started its business in China in 1978

On Dec 13, 1978, China National Cereals, Oils and Foodstuffs Corporation (COFCO) made an agreement with Coca-cola to build bottlers and sell the beverage in China through compensation trade or other payment methods. The deal was a symbolic event in China's opening-up.
