Xu Fushun, Vice Chairman of State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council (SASAC) and Member of SASAC Party Committee, delivered a keynote speech at the "Belt and Road" Countries (Regions) Business Cooperation Development Conference in Chengdu, Sichuan Province, on Sept 20.
SASAC has taken a raft of measures to guide and encourage central SOEs to join in the Belt and Road construction since Xi Jinping, General Secretary of the CPC Central Committee, proposed the Belt and Road Initiative, according to Xu.

He went on to say that central SOEs have undertaken a batch of major projects in countries along the Belt and Road by giving full play to their advantages.
Central SOEs significantly helped countries involved to improve their infrastructure facilities, accelerated the transformation and upgrading of industrial structure, sped up the industrialization and urbanization, effectively turned their advantages in resources to advantages in products, greatly improving local economy, employment and the working and living conditions of local people, Xu added.

Xu stressed that the "Belt and Road" is a path that leads to opening-up and cooperation as well as mutual benefit and win-win results, and SASAC and central SOEs shall earnestly implement the guiding principles of a series of important instructions of Xi Jinping, General Secretary of the CPC Central Committee, firmly foster and practice the concept of high-quality development, constantly strengthen communication and cooperation with countries and enterprises along the route, adhere to the principle of wide consultation, joint contribution and shared benefits, carry out cooperation in major projects, innovation-based development and third-party market and livelihood improvement, seek win-win interests and jointly open up a broader space for development.
Representatives from more than 50 central SOEs attended the conference.
