A conference was held on Dec 29, 2002 to announce establishment or reorganization of 11 electric power enterprises in China.

The 11 companies are State Grid Corporation of China, China Southern Power Grid, China Huaneng Group Co., Ltd., China Datang Corporation Ltd., China Huadian Corporation Ltd., State Power Investment Corporation Limited (SPIC), China Power Investment Corporation (now merged with State Nuclear Power Technology Corporation into SPIC), China Power Engineering Consulting (Group) Corporation (now merged into China Energy Engineering Group Planning & Engineering Co., Ltd.), HYDROCHINA, Sinohydro Group Ltd. and China Gezhouba (Group) Corporation.

Fuling shale gas field of Sinopec Group completes project capable of producing five billion Nm³ annually on Dec 29, 2015

The Fuling shale gas field of China Petrochemical Corporation (Sinopec Group), a national shale gas demonstration zone, completed construction of a facility able to produce five billion Nm³each year on Dec 29, 2015.

It marked that China had developed a shale gas field with the output capacity ranking second only to those in North America.

China is home to rich shale gas resources and the Fuling field's replicable mode strongly supported and accelerated implementation of the country's energy resource strategy.
