The Upper Tamakoshi Hydroelectric Power Station, the largest power station of its kind in Nepal, recently went into full operation.

Contracted by Power Construction Corporation of China (POWERCHINA), the station has six hydraulic turbine generator units and a total installed capacity of 456 megawatts.
It also has a maximum effective reservoir storage of 2.2 million cubic meters of water and a highest water level of 17 meters.
Its first generator unit went into operation on July 5, 2021.
The station is expected to relieve power shortages in Nepal and to play a role in adjusting the country's energy structure, enhancing its industrialization and agricultural modernization and boosting its economic and social development.
