China Mobile posted a revenue of 848.3 billion yuan ($133 billion) in 2021 and its year-on-year growth rate hit 10.4 percent, a 10-year high, as the company saw rising demand for business and home-network services.
Net income at the world's largest mobile operator rose 7.7 percent to 116.15 billion yuan in 2021.
Specifically, China Mobile's digital transformation business recorded arevenue of 159.4 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 26.3 percent, which contributed nearly 60 percent to its rise in communication service revenue, and was the first driving force for the company's revenue growth.
By the end of last year, China Mobile has put 740,000 5G base stations into service.
Yang Jie, chairman of China Mobile, said among them, the company has co-built 200,000 5G base stations with China Broadcasting Network Co Ltd last year, and the two sides plans to co-build about 280,000 more 5G base stations this year.
The company's mobile subscribers reached 957 million by the end of last year, and 387 million of them are 5G subscribers.
