China Establishes Research and Innovation Centers for Advanced Glass Materials

The National Innovation Center for Advanced Glass Materials and the Research Institute for Advanced Glass Materials Co., Ltd of China National Building Material Group Co., Ltd. (CNBM ) were recently launched. They will focus on innovation and research of advanced glass materials.

The National Innovation Center for Advanced Glass Materials will focus on the aspects of information display glass, new energy glass, energy-saving and environmental protection glass, and other special glass and promote the innovation of general purpose technology, testing and verification, pilot testing and incubation as well as industrial public services to promote innovative development of China's advanced glass material industry.

The center is one of the first national manufacturing innovation centers of the country's 14th Five-Year Plan period (2021-25), and the first of its kind in East China's Anhui Province. It is also the industry's only national-level manufacturing innovation center.
