Making full use of smart water treatment methods like an accurate aeration system and a multi-stage A2O process, the Xiaotangshan and Machikou recycled water plant of CECEP's General Water of China Co., Ltd. is now able to treat about 85,000 metric tons of sewage and reduce chemical oxygen demand (COD) and ammonia nitrogen by 14.5 and 1.7 tons daily.

The two plants also use sewage source heat pumps to extract low-grade heat energy contained in the sewage for heating of the plants, equaling burning 136 tons of standard coal and reducing carbon dioxide emissions by 339 tons.

In addition to sewage, CECEP also provides effective treatment of domestic waste at the Olympic venues and athletes' residences.

To realize direct incineration of the waste into the furnace, CECEP built an automatic feeding system that can handle 50 tons of waste per day and at the same time combined the old and new treatment systems to improve waste treatment capacity.

During the Games, CECEP is expected to dispose of more than 3,000 tons of domestic waste from Olympic venues, providing a sound and green environment for the event.
