The duty-free complex at the Guangzhou North Railway Station in South China's Guangdong Province recently broke ground, a key step in the construction of the first duty-free complex in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
Jointly developed by China Tourism Group and the Guangzhou municipal government, the one-stop duty-free complex project is located in northwest Guangzhou, about 10 kilometers from Baiyun International Airport.
The project includes a duty-free shopping mall, an outlet mall, an office tower, two commercial towers and some public supporting facilities.
It is designed to connect with the Guangzhou North Railway Station and is close to the airport, subways and highways.
In addition, it neighbors the cultural and tourism industrial zone and the Guangzhou North Railway Station business industrial belt, giving it a key role in the city's tourism, traffic pattern, and business and leisure and entertainment sectors in the future.
